By creating an account, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms. Your continued use of the Service after any changes to these terms constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

3. AI-Powered Features

Thintent offers optional AI-powered features to assist your business operations, including but not limited to:

  • VAT classification analysis of uploaded artwork and designs
  • Revenue forecasting and trend analysis
  • Customer behaviour analytics (churn prediction, segmentation)
  • Anomaly detection in business metrics

Important disclaimers regarding AI features:

  • AI-generated outputs are informational only and do not constitute professional, tax, legal, or financial advice.
  • VAT classification suggestions are not a substitute for professional tax advice. You remain solely responsible for ensuring correct VAT treatment of your products and for compliance with HMRC requirements.
  • Revenue forecasts, churn predictions, and other analytical outputs are estimates based on historical data and statistical models. They are not guarantees of future performance.
  • When AI features are enabled, relevant data (such as uploaded design files) may be transmitted to our AI service provider (Anthropic) for processing. This processing is subject to our Privacy Policy.
  • AI features are opt-in and can be disabled at any time through your account settings.
  • Thintent accepts no liability for business decisions made based on AI-generated outputs.

4. Carbon Footprint Estimates

Thintent provides estimated carbon footprint calculations for print orders based on configurable emission factors for paper production, printing processes, and finishing treatments.

  • These estimates are approximate calculations based on industry-standard factors and should not be treated as certified environmental assessments.
  • Carbon figures are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute verified carbon accounting or environmental certification.
  • Emission factors may be updated periodically, and historical order calculations are preserved using the factors in effect at the time of the order.
  • Thintent makes no representations about the accuracy of these estimates for regulatory, reporting, or offsetting purposes.

5. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password. You agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account or password.

  • You may not assign or otherwise transfer your account to any other person or entity.
  • Account sharing is prohibited unless using the team accounts feature on a qualifying plan.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of any end-customer data entered into the platform on your behalf.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

6. Content and Uploads

You retain full ownership of all content, artwork, designs, and files you upload to the Thintent platform. By uploading content, you grant Thintent a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, display, and process that content solely for the purpose of operating the Service.

Where AI-powered features are enabled for your account, uploaded content may be processed by our AI service provider to deliver features such as automated VAT classification. This processing is limited to the specific feature purpose and is subject to our Privacy Policy. You can disable AI processing of your content at any time through your product settings.

You are responsible for ensuring that all uploaded content:

  • Does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights
  • Does not contain illegal, obscene, defamatory, or harmful material
  • Complies with all applicable laws and regulations

Thintent reserves the right to remove any content that violates these terms or applicable law, with or without notice.

7. Platform Role and Payment Processing

Thintent operates as a platform facilitator, not as a merchant of record for transactions between businesses and their end customers. When end customers purchase products through a business's storefront:

  • The contractual relationship for the sale is between the business and the end customer, not between Thintent and the end customer.
  • Payment is processed through Stripe Connect, where Thintent facilitates the transaction and the business is the merchant of record.
  • Thintent is not responsible for the quality, delivery, or fitness for purpose of products sold through business storefronts.
  • Disputes between businesses and their end customers are the responsibility of the business to resolve. Thintent may assist but is under no obligation to mediate.

Subscription and Payment Terms

Thintent offers a paid subscription plan with a 30-day free trial for new accounts. Key payment terms include:

  • Free trial — 30 days of full access with no credit card required
  • After trial or cancellation — your storefront goes offline but your account and data are preserved
  • Paid subscription — billed in advance on a monthly basis via Stripe
  • Auto-renewal — subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date
  • Pricing changes — we will provide at least 30 days' notice before any pricing changes take effect
  • Refunds — monthly plans are non-refundable, but you retain access until the end of your current billing period. Refunds may be issued in exceptional circumstances or as required by law. See our Refund Policy for full details
  • Failed payments — if a payment fails, we will attempt to collect again and provide a grace period before suspending your account

8. Cancellation and Data Handling

You may cancel your subscription at any time:

  • Cancel through your account settings or by contacting our support team
  • You will retain access to your account until the end of your current billing period
  • After cancellation, your storefront will go offline and will no longer be accessible to your customers
  • You have 90 days after cancellation to export or request a copy of your data. After this period, account data and uploaded files will be permanently deleted.
  • Order and transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by UK tax and accounting regulations.

We are under no obligation to maintain your data beyond the retention periods described above.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe upon the rights of others
  • Upload or transmit malicious code or content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service
  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorised purpose
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service without written permission
  • Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the platform
  • Abuse API rate limits or attempt to circumvent usage limits
  • Process payments outside of Thintent's integrated payment systems for orders placed through the platform

10. Your Responsibilities as a Business

As a business using the Thintent platform to serve end customers, you are responsible for:

  • Maintaining accurate and legally compliant storefront content, including your own terms and conditions, privacy policy, refund policy, and cookie policy. Thintent provides default templates as a starting point, but these are not legal advice and must be customised for your jurisdiction and business model.
  • Complying with all applicable consumer protection laws in your dealings with end customers, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
  • Ensuring that any marketing emails or campaigns sent through the platform comply with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) 2003, including obtaining valid consent from recipients before sending marketing communications.
  • Fulfilling orders placed through your storefront in a timely manner.
  • Handling end-customer complaints, refunds, and disputes.
  • Ensuring correct VAT treatment of your products, regardless of any AI-assisted suggestions provided by the platform.
  • The actions of any team members or employees granted access to your business account. You are liable for all activity conducted under your business account.
  • Complying with UK GDPR in relation to end-customer personal data you collect and process through the platform.

11. Data and Privacy

Your data is important to us. We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information. For full details on how we collect, use, and protect your data, please review our Privacy Policy.

12. Intellectual Property

The Thintent platform, including its original content, features, functionality, design, and underlying technology, is and will remain the exclusive property of Thintent and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws.

You retain ownership of all content you create and upload. Storefronts created using Thintent are licensed to you for use through the platform and are not transferable outside the Service.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Thintent, its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or relating to the Service shall not exceed the total fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Without limiting the above, Thintent shall not be liable for any losses arising from reliance on AI-generated outputs (including VAT classifications and revenue forecasts), carbon footprint estimates, or any other automated analysis provided by the Service.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the laws of England and Wales.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Thintent and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Content you upload or make available through the Service
  • Your breach of these Terms and Conditions
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Any claims from your end customers relating to products or services sold through your storefront
  • Your failure to comply with applicable tax, consumer protection, or data protection laws

Thintent will provide reasonable notice of any such claims and cooperate with your defence.

15. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account under the following circumstances:

  • Breach of these Terms and Conditions
  • Non-payment of subscription fees after the grace period
  • Use of the Service for illegal activity or prohibited purposes
  • Extended account inactivity (12 months or more)

Where possible, we will provide notice before termination and an opportunity to remedy the breach. You may terminate your account at any time as described in Section 8 (Cancellation and Data Handling).

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Data handling following termination is governed by Section 8.

16. Dispute Resolution

In the event of any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service:

  • Informal resolution — both parties agree to attempt to resolve the dispute informally within 30 days of written notice
  • Mediation — if informal resolution fails, either party may refer the dispute to mediation
  • Governing law — these Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales
  • Jurisdiction — the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes

17. Changes to Terms and Contact

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect, by posting the updated terms on this page and, where appropriate, notifying you by email.

If you have any questions about these Terms and Conditions, please contact us at:

By using Thintent, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms and Conditions and agree to be bound by them. This document is a working draft and should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before being treated as a binding legal document.
