Answer a quote request
A request is already a draft quote. Check the lines, price them, and send.
When one arrives
You get an email, “Quote request from …”, with what they asked for and an Open quote link; replying to it goes straight to the customer. The bell shows it too, and Requests in the sidebar carries a count of requests still waiting for a quote.
Behind the scenes thintent matched the email to an existing contact or customer, or created one, then opened a draft quote and asked the drafter to lay out the lines. The request text itself is in the quote’s Internal notes. If the drafter couldn’t run, the draft opens without lines and the Requests page says so.
Send the quote
- Open the draft from the email, the bell, or the Quote column on Requests.
- Check the lines and their prices. The What was guessed panel lists what the drafter assumed. To redo the draft with a change, use Draft this quote at the top.
- Add anyone under Copy someone in if the quote should reach more than the person who asked.
- Click Send to …, then Send quote.
Once sent, the request stops counting on the Requests badge. The Requests page keeps the last 100 with where each came from, what was asked for, and the quote’s status, plus the last 30 days as numbers: received, quoted, won.
Discard spam
On the request’s row, click Not a real request. The draft quote is deleted, and so is the customer if the request created them and nothing else has happened since. Existing customers are never touched. The row stays, greyed, as discarded. A request whose quote has already been sent can’t be discarded.
