Send a quote to one particular contact
Name the person on the quote and it goes to their address. Copy anyone else in on that quote alone.
Pick the person when you start the quote
- Click New quote. In Customer, start typing. The list suggests customers and contacts both, contacts as “Dave — The Red Lion”. Pick the contact and their name, email and phone fill in along with the customer.
- Or pick the customer, then type in Contact name. Once a customer is chosen it suggests only that customer’s contacts. A new name becomes a new contact there.
- Click Start quote.
The quote goes to the named contact’s email. If the contact has no email, it goes to the customer’s own address. The accounts email never gets a quote. The quote page header shows who it is addressed to, and after sending, who was copied.
From a contact’s own page, New quote starts a quote already addressed to them.
Copy someone in
In the draft editor, under Quote settings, click Edit beside Message: with the message to the customer is Copy someone in. Type an address and press Enter, comma or Tab to make it a chip; up to five. They are copied on the quote email, on the automatic follow-ups, and on the order confirmation. The list belongs to that quote only, not to the customer, though it carries over to a duplicate or a revision.
If the contact has no email, the first person copied becomes the To. With nobody at all, the send button reads Issue quote: the quote is frozen and on record, and you share the customer link yourself.
Changing who a quote is for
Once a quote exists you can’t move it to a different customer or contact. Click Duplicate and change the customer fields on the new draft; the modal says “Same customer by default — change any field to send the new draft to someone else instead.”
