Take card payments
Connect Stripe so customers can pay by card or Pay by Bank from the invoice link itself.
You don’t need Stripe to quote, or to get paid. Bank details alone are enough, and a customer can accept with nothing connected. Stripe adds card and Pay by Bank alongside, with the money going straight to your own Stripe account.
Connect Stripe
- Go to Settings › Payments. Owners only.
- Click Connect Stripe. You go to Stripe’s own onboarding, about five minutes of questions about the business and the bank account payouts should reach.
- Come back and the box reads Stripe connected, with a Manage in Stripe link to your Stripe dashboard.
If you stop part way, the button becomes Resume Stripe setup, and card payments stay off until it’s finished. Got stuck on the wrong email? Start over forgets the unfinished connection and begins again.
Turn the routes on
On the same page, the Card, Pay by bank and Bank transfer switches set what every new quote offers. Any single quote can change them under How they can pay, where the boxes also show what each route costs you: an estimate of the card fee, the capped Pay by bank fee, no fee for a transfer.
Where the money goes
Card and bank payments settle into your Stripe account and pay out on Stripe’s schedule, usually a couple of business days. Payouts in thintent lists each payout as the invoices it covered, so it lands in your books as more than a lump.
