Send your first quote

Type the job the way the customer said it, check the price, send.

A new shop’s dashboard offers a rehearsal: a quote addressed to your own email, so you can see the whole thing land in an inbox before a customer does. Or go straight to a real one.

The shortest path

  1. Click New quote, on the Quotes page or the dashboard.
  2. Type the Customer: the business, or the person if it’s an individual. Say whether they’re a Business or a Member of the public. Add a contact name and email if you have them; the email is what the quote is sent to.
  3. Click Start quote.
  4. On the first line, type a Title, then in its price table a Qty and a Sell ex VAT. The settings that work a price out can wait. + Add another line for more.
  5. Under Quote settings, click Edit beside Fulfilment to add collection or delivery and its price if the job needs it, and beside Message for a message to the customer.
  6. Click Send to …, check the modal, and click Send quote.

The customer gets an email with a View & accept quote button; you can see the same page from the customer link on the quote. The quote is now frozen and valid for 30 days.

Or let it draft the lines

Instead of typing lines, open Draft this quote at the top of the editor, paste the customer’s email or type “500 A5 flyers, 350 silk, double sided at £45”, and click Draft the quote. Put the price in and it’s used as given; leave it out and you type it on the line.
